4th Annual World eBook Fair & Free Downloads

Dear Me,

I'm not really a fan of ebooks because I prefer the smell and feel of printed paper. Although I have tons of ebooks stored in my laptop's hard disk, I find them useful when I want to read and forget to bring a book in my bag. Also, I feel appreciation on the proliferation of ebooks when a hard-to-find or hard-to-acquire book is now within my reach.

FREE access to over 2.5 million full text eBooks can be downloaded online in celebration of the 4th Annual World eBook Fair.

Having started last July 4, 2009, the Fourth Annual World eBook Fair will run till August 4, 2009.

The largest collections are sourced from the following eLibraries:

..100,000+ from Project Gutenberg
..500,000+ from The World Public Library
1,385,000+ from The Internet Archive
..250,000+ from eBooks About Everything
...17,000+ from IMSLP
__________

2,252,000+ grand total

Just a few more days to spare to download all the books I really want to have. I have been so busy lately that I still have to check my book wishlist. :)

One book that I'm looking forward to finding and reading is
The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich: A History of Nazi Germany by William L. Shirer.

I will be searching and downloading ebooks till this weekend. :)

I wonder if others have downloaded a lot of ebooks already. *hmm*

  1. Hey, thanks for sharing this info. I haven't tried downloading an e-book. Will do it before the deadline on August 4. Do the copies expire?

  2. @ABANIKO, I was able to download a couple of ebooks last year. Nope, they don't expire. I still have them with me. :)
