On JetLi

I am not really the type who knows about everything and who remembers anything about someone or something but definitely, I am crazy about JetLi.

Evil Cult

I watched this old movie of his, entitled
"Evil Cult" which was actually shown year 1993. If I am not mistaken, it carried alternate titles such as The Kung Fu Cult Master, The Lord of Wu Tang.

The Kung Fu Cult Master

The Lord of Wu Tang

It was set during the Yuan Dynasty following the adventures of two rival martial arts factions who were vying for the possession of two golden swords containing the secret to dominance of the world of martial arts. A student of the Wu Tang befriended Gold Lion and married the daughter of White Eagle but was killed for the secret of the location of the missing sword. His young son witnessed this and vowed revenge on the heads of the rival faction. Unfortunately, he had a curse that prevented him from learning martial arts.

...With his parents having been forced to commit suicide, Chang Mo-kei grew up suffering the effects of the "Jinx Palm" which did not allow him to learn kung fu. Although favored by Wu Tang's leader, Chang was cast out by a rival. He was cured by a crazy monk who was tricked into teaching Chang the "Great Solar Stance," a powerful martial arts technique with magical properties. Chang then seeks revenge on the various clan leaders responsible for his parents' deaths while trying to keep the clans from destroying each other.

Honestly, I really miss this type of movies...

Isn't our country so embarassing to the international community? Our warring branches of the government are like no other. Hanep talaga!

Di ba may kantang: "Magandang gabi sa iyong lahat, ako'y nagagalak..."

Hehehe! Mind you, kulay lavender - any muy peborit kong kulay. Nyahaha!

You know what I had for lunch today? I had
YAKISOBA.

Ang sarap-sarap talaga ng pagkain na yon! Courtesy of the building's Japanese restaurant,
Dozo, I had a very filling lunch. It costs 70 bucks considering its big serving. Not bad at all.

I was not able to finish it sa sbrang dami. I left 1/3 of it for
Sakura, my dear doggie. Love ko yon eh.

Why is it there are some people who "loves" to but in during conversations they are not involved in? *hmm*

Just a thought, actually.

Now, I can imagine myself again giving that person a prick (yes, a prick) in the head (oo, sa head)! Surprisingly (was I really surprised at all?), *toot* seems to be kinda dumb, too.

Oh Lord, please do forgive me, please?! =)

Ang kapal naman...

Opposition senator Ping Lacson
was noted to be confident that he would be chosen as the united opposition's presidential standard-bearer. Di raw siya sasayaw o kakanta sa mga election campaigns niya kasi it doesn't fit him daw. Weakness daw niya ang hindi pagiging ma-PR. Nahihirapan daw siya makapag-adjust and maka-relate sa mga people.

Yun naman pala eh - WAG KA NA LANG TUMAKBO no!

My Kind of Guy...

Hehehe! I was reading the papers and I came across the article about the "stepping down" of Asia's longest-serving elected leader and my darn favorite statesman, Malaysian Premier Mahathir Mohamad.

This guy is really controversial, you know. Since college, he never fails to make a headline for himself. He is my favorite yes, and I do not mind the controversies he usually get himself into. He is just one practical, able, sensible thinking servant of Malaysia.

His last day as a prime minister was snubbed by
Australia's Prime Minister John Howard. When asked what will be his farewell message for Mahathir, he said he had no message for the Malaysian iron at all.

Mahathir had dismissed the bid of Australia to be accepted as part of Asia.

I am not being sarcastic but I laughed at the statement given by this man on the issue: He described Australia as
"some sort of transplant from another region."

It ain't funny but I laughed at the way this man deliver his lines.

Having served for 22 controversial years, this man was described as the "greatest Malaysian alive." Though accused of being "dictatorially" prejudiced to Muslims, he had ruled a multi-religious country.

He has been an outspoken supporter of Third World countries like the Philippines and a #1 critic of new colonialism in the international trading system; thus he was callously criticized by some developed countries.

It is undisputable how he had transformed his country from being a backward agricultural economy to an industrial powerhouse; from being a sick kitten to a growling tiger of Asia. [Oh man, that personification statement is so familiar...okay! I learnt it from one of my major subjects in college. I liked the sound of it. *lol*]

This is my guy!

Addicted to...Coffee

Ever since I met this wonderful guy, I stopped devouring 5 cups of coffee every time I wake up and another 2 cups upon arrival at the office. Slowly, I was able to reduce 7 cups to 5 cups to 3 cups to 1 and later on, none; not a single drop of caffeine flowing inside my system.

Mind you, it was really hard at first but I had gotten used to it.

Unfortunately, I have to revert back to my old addicting habit. Since I learned to take a heavy breakfast at the building’s canteen {I always arrived early}, the effect had started to show off at mid-morning. I tend to feel so sleepy. That was not such a good thing to happen especially when you wanted to jumpstart the morning, be alert and trying to make your mind work in an analytical speed.

So, I started drinking coffee again. Either I prepare it myself using an instant or a freshly-cooked brewed coffee from the office’s coffeemaker or buying it at the canteen’s Delifrance, the thing is: that caffeine somehow perks me up from my near-slumber; an ever-ready potent mental stimulant.

Days pass by and from one cup, I am already getting used to {again} drinking 3 cups. So much for addiction.

Coffee has a domineering aroma that ensnares the senses. It has a dark magic that stimulates a passionate fascination for just a mere steaming cup; for wanting a caffeine kick.

Oh yeah! How do I like my coffee? I prefer it as:
Black as the devil, hot as hell, pure as an angel and sweet as love.

Paolo’s so Cool...

Despite noting in my planner about his upcoming concert a month before the event, I was still not able to watch Paolo Santos’ first-ever performance at the Music Museum.

I am not really fond of concerts though I would love to watch a few on my list to perform centerstage; and one of them is this guy.

The guy is oozing with simplicity and a voice coming from the heart; one who is lacking of an airy attitude – so unlike those who had first tasted success.

I wish there will be a repeat performance of
Paolo By Request. I will not miss it for the world.

Pity us, FPJ...

The reversal of the incumbent Prez from her December 30 announcement not to run for the 2004 elections has created havoc far from being resolved. In fact, it summoned a future disaster waiting to be unleashed.

So do I heard that
The King of RP Movies is being urged to run for the presidency? [Sarcasm painted on my face]

Oh, come on, give me a break! Do give us all, a damn big break!!!

I just cannot believe it! Clearly unbelievable.

I had known since that politics is such a dirty game to play. But do some STUPID people have to resort to such damn tactics?

Just because the current prez decided to run after all, the opposition would gather all the “potentials” & filter them thru a selection process to be the opposition’s standard bearer.

Why do I hate
Ping Lacson?

Why? For the same reason that one of the respected senior fellow in a government think-tank mentioned to me: The guy is a killer. Sure, I may have been made biased by the media but in my own perception, he really plays the role. A very crooked criminal.

This sonofabitch [excuse the word] was an idol for me when he was still untainted by popularity and high rankings. In fact, I would ogle at him and watch his real life portrayed in a movie. Yes, I do admit I am one of those who watched his movie but then I was brought back to reality, brought out from my reverie.

So, what I do now? I only not scorned at him whenever I see his hateful face on TV, on billboards and I really hate hearing his voice over a radio interview.

With the charges he brought against the First Husband of Malacanan did not even make me believe he is saying the absolute truth. Not that I am saying that Arroyo guy is not guilty.

I just wish you nothing but you stumble and have your face broken!

For the generous, kind-hearted
FPJ, I do pray you will decide not to gun up for the presidency. I just wish you will follow your heart & not be urged by some movement who have their own vested interests in case you win [which I undoubtedly think you have a good chance of winning].

I know your buddy Estrada will support you. But of course, what are friends for? You are untainted of any corruption, very popular and the stakes of your winning is almost palpable. Please do not let yourself be used by unscrupulous, deceitful beings who are only after using your acquired [if ever] power to advance their selfish interests. It is such a shame that these kinds of people exist.

Think hard. You do not have the slightest experience in running a minute political unit, let alone, the entire Philippines. You may have the gold heart but in this dirty world, a good heart is not enough. You have to be strong and well-equipped in ordering people around.

Di ka pa nga tumatakbo eh, you’re still ‘contemplating” on the possibility and yet the currency market is already reacting to the news that you will likely accept the united opposition’s offer to be their standard bearer for the 2004 elections. The perceptions is: foreign investors will try to get out of the country.

We are not just talking of politics here, it is more of economics. Economics is the thing that enables people to eat 3x a day; have food in their table – for their family to eat.

Economics is the very root that makes every single Filipino alive.

Signs of a Friendster Addict

10. Kapag you find yourself getting to know people na hindi mo naman kilala personally by reading their testimonials.

12. Kapag napupuno na ang email box mo sa mga friendster message na XYZ is now your friend.

13. Kapag imbes na magtrabaho o gumawa ng assignment, itong message ang binabasa mo at napapa-agree ka dahil you're showing signs of being an addict.

14. Kapag may new set of friends ka na through friendster.

18. When you have this deep irritation with your Internet rules because they blocked friendster.

On Mitch Albom...

It is so funny that I am already wanting to get hold of another Mitch Albom’s books. After Tuesdays with Morrie, another book of his will soon be gracing the shelves of my favorite bookstores. I cannot wait for that.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven will more probably invoke the same tone as the first book. I think it will be another book that will make you wonder and ponder real questions of life and death.

This is a bet: I will be buying that book no matter how much it costs. I had deprived of myself lately of buying new books so I guess, this is it.

I just hope that prices of books will go down a little cheaper. How can they instill a passion for reading for the young ones when books seem to be inaccessible?
