Let's face it. One of the main goals of joining a meme is to increase links. So, let's call a spade a spade and see how "Big" of a "Bang" we can get. The goal is to exceed 1,000 sites. Can it be done? With your help we will leave all the other memes in our dust! Just follow the instructions. No thought necessary.

*Start Copy Here*

You do not have to be tagged to play along. This game is simple and so are the rules.

  • Copy from *Start Copy Here* through *End Copy Here*

  • Add your site(s) to the list. Just be sure to post at each site you add.

  • Tag or don't tag, your choice; however, the more tags you create the bigger the list will grow.

  • Let me know your blog's name and url by leaving me a comment HERE. I will add you to the master list.

  • Come back and copy the master list back to your site, often. This process will allow late-comers to get as much link benefit as the first ones in.

    The 2008 Philippine Blog Awards

    by , in
    Dear Me,

    I am promoting the upcoming
2008 Philippine Blog Awards in an effort to show recognition to those wonderful bloggers out there!

Are you a Filipino with a blog worth noticing? Think you got what it takes to be called one of the Philippines' best bloggers?

Help us spread the word about the 2008 Philippine Blog Awards!

The Philippine Blog Awards aims to recognize notable Filipino-owned blogs in their respective niches. With topics ranging from the arts, culture, technology and politics, Filipinos have become more abreast because of the fast growing blogging industry here and abroad. The Philippine Blog Awards is a venue to showcase notable blogs with quality content that engages readers from around the globe.

Now on its second year, the Philippine Blog Awards continues to recognize Filipino blogging talent from around the world. This year, the awards extends its reach towards network blogs written by Filipinos, blogs written by mainstream media practitioners as well as local corporations that use blogs are effective communication tools.

    Let the blogathon continue!

    A Short History
The Philippine Blog Awards was a project conceived in the latter part of 2006 to recognize quality content in the Philippine blogosphere. The main propagators of this project involved Abe Olandres, Gail de la Cruz-Villanueva and Jayvee Fernandez, three individuals involved in different areas of online media. Though they are involved in their own projects, they have since become attracted to a common passion of organizing the Filipino blogosphere and help give Filipinos a louder voice in cyberspace.

    Abe Olandres | yugatech.com
As one of the owners of Philippine web hosting start-up company plogHost, Abe has built his blogging success story as the chronicler of the Filipino blogosphere with his "The Philippines According to Blogs" and the Pinoy Top Blogs Project.

More famously known as "Yuga" in the local blogosphere, he has become a valuable resource person doing advocacy talks and trainings on blogging and podcasting both locally and on various Asian countries such as Taiwan, Pakistan and Indonesia.

As a professional blogger, he has successfully established several niche group blogs such as Pinoy Tech Blog, Pinoy Travel Blog and Pinoy Urban Blog. He is also one of the co-founders of the recently launched blog network, the Bayanihan Blog Network.

    Gail Dela Cruz-Villanueva | kutitots.com
An international award winning designer, Gail has claimed several recognitions from the International WordPress 2.0 Theme Competition bringing a local flavor to the Web 2.0 design industry. She is the creator of the "Dapit Hapon" theme, the first Filipino-inspired WordPress theme on public release, which was recognized by international WordPress users and online media. Gail is also one of the owners of Sheero Media Solutions, where she had done work for some of the Philippines' top websites.

As a blogger, Gail runs Kutitots, My Filipino Wedding, Pinoy Dog Lover, Dog Fashionista, and The Filipino Web Designer. She has also co-founded The Pinoy Pets Network with Connie Veneracion.

    Jayvee Fernandez | abuggedlife.com
In the Philippine technology scene, Jayvee is best known for his work as contributing editor for the four year old publication Mobile Philippines under Hinge-Inquirer Publications. He is deeply involved in the professional blogging industry as Technology Channel Editor for global new media network, b5media Inc as well as editorial consultant for INQUIRER.net, the number one news website in the Philippines.

He is also one of the minds behind the local blog advertising brokerage called The Blog Bank.

So while waiting for the nominations to commence, do your share and spread the word! =)

    Preggy Me

    by , in
    Dear Me,

It's true. When a woman becomes pregnant, she feels and looks unpleasant (translation: ugly) even though the people around her try to convince her otherwise. But then, no matter what, the same feeling seems to bug her no end.

Just like what I strongly felt then.

I felt so ugly. Who wouldn't? I had to wear a much bigger size of clothes to accommodate my growing tummy and hips. It was kinda hard to find a set of fashionable clothes that would fit me as well, given my height. The clothes would fit my width but it was another matter when it came to my height.

And when you're feeling unsure and low in self-esteem, the tendency is to hide away and not be seen by people you know.

So I went out of the house not as frequent as I used to or as much as I would want to.

Even taking photos of me being that big was a no-no.

But I did wear the-devil-may-care-attitude once in a while and had some (mug)shots taken (hehehe)...

taken: 1st month of my last trimester of pregnancy

enjoying my Butterfinger Creme Pie from Burger King. I had to beg my hubby to have this dessert since I had been eating too many sweets.

having such a great time choosing books to buy during the 28th Manila International Book Fair held at the World Trade Center.

"painfully" waiting to devour my favorite Chicken Roll at Tsoko.Nut (located at Dela Rosa Street in Makati). Hubby's order of traditional ham took eons to arrive. Why? Because they totally forgot his order. Tsk. Buti na lang, good mood ako. Hahaha!

Hubby and I dined at Teriyaki Boy at Robinson's Galleria to celebrate my "twenteen" birthday. This was also my 2nd time to dine at this almost-authentic Japanese resto. I craved for their salmon treat. =)

PS. Isn't it obvious that I love to eat... a lot? Nyahahaha.

    Dear Me,

This is my third time to participate in this

    Appetizer
    What is your favorite beverage?

My all-time fave bev would be CUPS OF AROMATIC COFFEE! =)

    Soup
Name 3 things that are on your computer desk at home or work.

    A laptop, my books, pens/paper.

    Salad
On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being highest), how honest do you think you are?

Probably 7-8. I think I'm honest enough but I have to do the occasional white lie to facilitate a lot of things that need to be done in the quickest, most proper way.

    Main Course
If you could change the name of one city in the world, what would you rename it and why?

I can't think of anything I would want to change.

    Dessert
What stresses you out? What calms you down?

Stress: Deadlines, sickness in the family, verbal fight with someone.
Calm: reading a book, going to Baguio for a brief getaway, having a very rare light moment with my family...

    Thursday Thirteen #25

    by , in
    Dear Me,

A continuation of my last post about
    T13.

Paolo Coelho has been highly regarded by his readers. The books he wrote exemplified various lessons in life as learned by the character's experiences. His insightful approach is very much appealing to me.

I would love to share meaningful quotes from his books.

    graphic courtesy of Emily

    Thirteen Paolo Coelho Quotes (2)

    1. "You have passed through the two hardest tests on the spiritual road: the patience to wait for the right moment and the courage not to be disappointed with what you encounter."

    2. "When you know that language, it's easy to believe that someone in the world awaits you, whether it's in the middle of the desert or in some great city... without such love, one's dreams would have no meaning."

    3. "To realize one's personal legend is one's only true obligation."

    4. "Because I don't live in either my past or my future. I'm interested only in the present. If you can concentrate always on the present, you'll be a happy man... Life will be a party for you, a grand festival, because life is the moment we're living right now."

    5. "Everyday God gives us the sun, and also the moment in which have the ability to change everything that makes us unhappy. Our magic moment helps us to change and send us off in search of our dreams."

    6. "No one can hit their target with their eyes closed."

    7. "Stop thinking all the time that you're in the way, that you're bothering the person next to you. If people don't like it, they can complain. And if they don't have courage to complain, that's their problem."

    8. "I learned the most important lesson of my life: that the extraordinary is not the birthright of a chosen and privileged few, but of all people, even the humblest. That is my one certainty: we are all the manifestation of the divinity of God."

    9. "You can become blind by seeing each day as a similar one. Each day is a different one, each day brings a miracle of its own. It's just a matter of paying attention to this miracle."

    10. "All battles in life serve to teach us something, even the battles we lose."

    11. "A warrior is always aware of what is worth fighting for. He does not go into combat over things that do not concern him, and he never wastes his time over provocations. "

    12. "The boy was beginning to understand that intuition is really a sudden immersion of the soul into the universal current of life, where the histories of all people are connected, and we able to know everything, because it's all written there."

    13. "That's how love got lost," he said. "When we started laying down rules for when love should or shouldn't appear."

    2007

    by , in
    Dear Me,

I've been a little off about blogging lately. It's kinda late but here's a few tweets of my 2007.

Where did you begin the year 2008?
At home - in the kitchen with my sister.

What was your status by Valentine's Day?
    attached and loving it.

Did you have to go to the hospital?
Yep. To deliver my baby boy. =)

Where did you go for vacation?
Singapore... =) But it was business for hubby (who was back then my bf).

What did you purchase that was over 100 dollars?
    microwave oven, electric stove.

What was your favourite TV program?
I have a lot of faves: CSI Miami & New York, 24, Bones, Angel, Criminal Minds, etc.

Did you know anybody who got married?
    Yes! Me...hehehe.

    Anybody who passed away?
Yeah. My high school Values Educ teacher.

    How's your birthday?
I celebrated it like any other day.

    Your favorite moment(s)?
Getting married and seeing my newborn right after delivery.

    New additions to your family?
    Carlos Miguel, my son.

    What was your best month?
    October!

How old did you turn this year?
    29

    Have any new year's resolution?
I have a lot with the intention of fulfilling them.

    Have you had any regrets?
Yeah. I should have carefully mapped out year 2007.

    Have you gotten sick?
Not really except for the typical colds, cough and tonsilitis.

What's the valuable life lesson you learned in 2007?
That no matter what I think how a family sucks, they will always be there for you when you least expect them to.

What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
    Patience and Focus.

If you could give your life to get anything back, what would it be?
I love my life as it is. I would have done better if given the chance to do so.

What has been your motto this year? Did you live up to it?
My lifetime motto: Live life to the fullest as if there's no tomorrow. Actually, I had some regrets because I didn't live up to it.

    Talk About Food

    by , in
    Dear Me,

I love to eat and there are edible things in this life that make me as ME. Hehehe.

Here's a photo list (just a few of them).

    World Chicken
Truth to be told, it's not the grilled chicken why I endure cuing in such long lines just to order a meal. I am absolutely in-love with their mouth-watering side dishes and sauces. Yumyum!

    Tsoko.Nut Batirol
My addiction to chocolate bars rooted out from my love for the local tsokolate made of cacao beans. It was sheer curiosity when I chanced upon this small but cozy food shop located at the 2nd floor of SM Makati; it was also sheer joy when I ordered a mug of hot Tsokolate Ah Batirol and found it to my liking. This syrupy and creamy hot drink will always be present as I order any of these favorites of mine: Chicken Roll (shown in the photo), Suman sa Latik, Suman sa Mangga, Bibingka with Kesong Puti and Itlog na Pula, Pandesal with Corned Beef.

    Starbucks
My love for chocolate equals my love for coffee. Before I learned about the benefits of anti-oxidants, it's the caffeine kick that brought me closer to a steaming, aromatic cup of joe. From my university days and nights up to my young urban professional (yuppie) stint of 7 years, these cups of coffee had kept me sane.

And while I meet long, lost buddies of mine and the occasional chit-chat with regular peepz, I order a grande size of any of my favorite frappuccino: Coffee, Mocha or Caramel.

    Choco Mallows
I love anything with chocolate on and in it! A biscuit filled with marshmallow and covered with chocolate? It's a wonderful burst in your mouth... =) I hope you get the picture.

    Dunkin' Donuts
Aside from the usual chocolate (hehehe) donuts, I crave for their sandwiches. I would die for their generous fillings of the so-called BCT (bacon, coleslaw, tomato) sandwich. Ask my hubby how many I can devour in one sitting. Hehehe.

    Old Shots

    by , in
    Dear Me,

I've been doing some cleaning (computer contents) lately and I bumped into some shots I took while I was pregnant. So before filing them in the DELETION folder, allow me to post them here.

    FOOD mag and cookbook
I know how to cook but I only know a couple of dishes. I got a few kicks when I tried to prepare something and it tasted better than I expected. =)

    Smart Parenting mags (back issues)
To wannabes and newbie parents out there, I highly recommend this magazine for your reading. There are lots of helpful information and ideas about parenting and family life in the pages of this magazine. If you don't want to subscribe, better head to Filbar's and search for back issues. They're treasures! *winks*

    Bead mags
When you're pregnant and living in the house alone for most of the day (hubby toils), you'll definitely crave for something new to do. I was supposed to engage in this new hobby, beading and all that but with all the books and the dvds plus the food (hehehe), I totally forgot about learning the craft. Anyway, I still have my box of beads and this 2008, I'm going to create my very first bead accessory. =)

    Pregnancy books/references
Like any other first times in our lives, we tend to look for ways to discover and learn about every aspect of that first time. As a newbie soon-to-be-mom, I scoured every pregnancy & baby-related books I could find in the shelves of the local bookstores. Mind you, there are tons of them. I got lost in the deluge of information I could find in one book. What I did was skim through the table of contents and check if it's too complicated for reading. I didn't want to waste time reading all the technical jargons in one book when I can comprehend the gist of the pregnancy process in another.

    At Random

    by , in
    Dear Me,

  • I have been bloghopping lately and I'm totally enjoying it. I discovered interesting blogs, new sites as well fab finds.

I'm adding the links and badges in my sidebar for easy reference. I know it's getting kinda crowded but that's the way it's gonna be at the moment. I will overhaul my sidebar once I find the time.

Speaking of fab finds, I'm kinda disappointed not to have participated in coveting this cute bag.

    pink diaper bag

I chanced upon this contest through Natalie's blog linking it to the person hosting the giveaway.

I'm a bag-aholic and it doesn't matter if it's a diaper bag. It's cute and fab and I have a use for it, now that I have a baby. =)

Would I be so bad if I have a baby boy but I prefer to have the pink diaper bag over the blue one? *winks*

  • Hubby has been profusely glorifying this desktop keyboard for the nth time. I couldn't blame him because he had been ogling the said piece in all the computer shops we visited everytime we went malling. It wasn't that expensive but I told him not to buy it just for the insane reason that he wanted it. The old one was still functional when excitement overpowered him.

Okay. Just for the sake of agreeing with him that
A4Tech X-Slim Keyboard KLS-7MU is a good buy, I will list down the reasons (it's kinda obvious just by looking at the piece) why:

    multimedia keyboard

    - headphone and usb ports are placed on opposite sides of the keyboard instead of ducking in front or behind the CPU.

    - instead of using your mouse to Refresh or Go Back to a website or view your Favorites folder while surfing the net, all you have to do is press some keys on.

    - again, instead of using your mouse to adjust volumes, play or pause a movie/video/mp3s, multimedia keys are strategically placed in the keyboard.

Sometimes, I get to think that the mouse is rendered useless when the keyboard is in play. Hmm.

  • It has been a while since I visited Quiapo. If I am not mistaken, I last set foot in the area while I was on my 2nd trimester of pregnancy. Together with hubby, we bought some dvds and hunted the shops selling beads and materials.

Out of the six (6) dvds we bought, I was only able to watch the first three movies (dvds at the top portion of the photo).

With regard to the beads, I haven't touch them since putting them in a box. I just lost the heart to start this new hobby. But I am still wanting to learn how to make my own bead accessories. =)
